Description
A glowing black die that reads its own roll, announces it in chat and lights up in the color of the result! This black die with recessed white pips is more than a prop: it is fully scripted and ready to play. Grab it, throw it, and as soon as it comes to rest, the die reads the face on top, announces the result in chat with the name of the thrower, and lights up its pips in the color of the number rolled. Its pips use an emissive shader, so the die stays easy to read in dark rooms, clubs and night scenes. Pick it up again and the pips return to their original white glow, ready for the next throw. ________________________________________ How it plays: • Grab and throw the die, just like a real one • When it stops, the result is announced in chat: "Morgane rolled a 6!" • The pips take the color of the result: 1 yellow, 2 red, 3 magenta, 4 blue, 5 cyan, 6 green • Grab the die again and it returns to its original white glow • Every visitor, the thrower included, sees the exact face that is announced (tested in scene with several visitors) Fair play built in: • A die simply put down on the table does not count: it has to be thrown • A die that comes to rest tilted against an object asks for a new roll • A die that leaves the play area or falls through the floor comes back to its starting place on its own • Anyone can type /ResetDice in chat to bring a lost die back ________________________________________ For creators: build your own games The die sends Script Events that any scripted object in your scene can listen to: • mpp_dice_1 to mpp_dice_6: one event per result • mpp_dice_rolled: every valid roll • mpp_dice_invalid: tilted die, die not thrown, die out of bounds • mpp_dice_grabbed: an avatar picks up the die (optional) • mpp_dice_reset: listened to by the die, sends it back to its starting place Light a lamp on a 6, open a door on a 1, play a sound, move a platform, keep score... your scene reacts to every roll. Scripters: the event data carries the thrower's avatar UUID and name, the value and the outcome of the roll (IDiceRollEventData, also compatible with IActionButtonEventData). ________________________________________ Adjust it to your liking: Every setting below can be changed in the script properties of the die, in the scene editor. • Messages: result, tilted die, die not thrown, die out of bounds. Write them in any language, with the tokens {name}, {handle}, {value} and {dice}. Leave a message empty to silence it • Chat range: avatars within 32 m of the die by default, or the whole scene. The thrower always gets the messages (can be turned off) • Reset command: /ResetDice by default, rename it or turn it off • Colors: one color per value, fade duration, tint on or off • Fair play: maximum tilt angle, minimum spin of a throw (or off), roll timeout • Play area: distance before the die comes back on its own (24 m by default, or off) • Script Events: event prefix, grab event, reset listening • Dice label, used in messages and events • Debug logging, for support Several dice in the same scene? Give each one its own label, event prefix and reset command, and they will never get mixed up. The glow of the pips can be changed too: edit the material of the die in the scene editor to adjust or remove the emissive effect. ________________________________________ Technical Details: • 1 black die with recessed white pips • Emissive pips, visible in dark and night scenes • Scripted and preconfigured: ready to use as soon as it is placed in your scene • Grabbable and throwable • Result announced in chat with the name of the thrower • Pips tinted in the color of the result • 24 adjustable script settings • Script Events to drive other objects in your scene • Resellable Good to know: • A roll starts when the die leaves an avatar's hand: a die pushed or knocked over is not read • The starting place of the die is where you place it in your scene ________________________________________ Resellable: this die is yours to build on. Use it as the heart of your own games (board games, casino tables, quiz rooms, lucky draws...) and sell your creations in the Sansar Store. The minimum resale price shown on this listing applies. ________________________________________ Sansar Experience: https://atlas.sansar.com/experiences/morganeparis/made-in-paris P.S.
